In this video, I’m going to be talking about the ketogenic diet and menopause. A woman who is going through menopause was wondering what the best diet is for belly fat while going through menopause? Also, what’s the best diet for menopause in general?

The keto diet is the best diet for menopausal women.

During menopause, women experience a sudden loss of ovarian function. With that comes a spike in insulin, which causes belly fat. When you go through menopause, your insulin is going to be higher, and you’ll have insulin resistance.

Side effects of high insulin:

• Belly Fat
• Bone Loss
• Pre-diabetes
• Moody
• Hot Flashes
• Memory Loss
• Blood Pressure Problems
• Muscles Loss
• Decreased Libido
• Cravings
• Increased Risk of Cardiac Problems
• Cholesterol

What to Do?

• Cut carbs down to 20-50grams per day (eat plenty of vegetables though)
• Moderate Protein
• Don’t go low fat
